Annual Cocktail Party & Reception at the Morrison Gallery

Mark your calendars now for the CHAMBER'S COCKTAIL PARTY & RECEPTION to be held on Thursday, February 23 from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Morrison Gallery, 8 Old Barn Road in the Village Barns. This annual event affords you the chance to mix and mingle with friends and colleagues in the fabulous setting of the Morrison Gallery. There will be a review of Chamber-sponsored events during 2011 and a preview of the plans for 2012. If you are not sure about joining, this is the perfect opportunity to learn how much the Kent Chamber of Commerce is doing to promote business and bring people into town. If you are already a member, bring a friend who may be considering membership!

In addition to the great food and wine, you will enjoy the current exhibit at the Morrison Gallery, featuring the incredible sea paintings of Chris Armstrong and the tactile creations of Kent’s own Peter Kirkiles.

Browse this website to see all the possibilities that exist for you as a member. You may also call 860.592.0061 for more information.

Visit Kent!

You’ve seen our fall foliage (two time winner according to Yankee Magazine) now try us in the winter. Whether you come for President’s Weekend or a random mental health day during the week, hop in your car and check out the fun in store for you.

Stay at one of our cozy inns including the award winning Inn at Kent Falls.

Enjoy a great meal at one of fourteen noteworthy restaurants, including the Fife ‘n Drum where fireside dining and live music combine for a special evening.

If you want a sweet to finish the meal try some home-made ice cream at Annie Bananie’s, or drop-dead delicious chocolates from Belgique Chocolatier.

To work off all that food, go outdoors and enjoy winter in New England with your snowshoes and skis. Don’t own any? You can rent them at Backcountry Outfitters along with other snow equipment.

If there’s no snow, there’s still plenty to do. Rent a bike or take a hike, and enjoy our scenic beauty. Be sure to bring your camera.

If shopping is more your style, browse in over 34 unique businesses, where you will be greeted by the owner when you walk through the door and there is free parking with no time limits. Choose from women’s clothing, antiques, home furnishings, jewelry and more.

And no visit would be complete without a look at the art galleries, home design shops and museums. Kent is small, unique and has its finger on the pulse of what’s new and hip while maintaining its identity of a quintessential Connecticut town. Come for a visit; we’ll be waiting for you.

A self-reliant Yankee spirit permeates Main Street in Kent, Connecticut, a pre-Revolutionary village in Litchfield County where art galleries and antiques shops coexist with bucolic cornfields, Cafes, boutiques, and independently owned bookstores occupy 19th-Century houses set back from the street.
