    About Kent

Welcome to Kent, a community that has something to offer everyone. Thanks to good planning and committed residents, Kent has managed to become a superb balance of old and new, quaint and chic, old-fashioned and avant garde.
Owner-operated shops and boutiques offer stylish and eclectic goods from home and abroad creating a small town with big shopping. Comfortable restaurants serve inventive dishes with fresh, local ingredients. Galleries feature high quality contemporary and classic art. From our rolling river with its covered bridge, north to Kent Falls, to the Appalachian Trail and up and down the surrounding hills just made for cycling, Kent offers outdoor activities for those who seek them.
Customer service with a smile and ample parking throughout the village center make Kent a wonderful place to spend a day shopping, dining and enjoying the quintessential New England town that Yankee Magazine and its readers continue to rate as a top year-round destination for its culture, shopping, food and lodging.
Thank you for choosing Kent as a place to visit – you’ll be glad you did.

    About our Seal
the Kent sealThe seal is divided into five sections, each containing a symbol of the development of the town. Across the entire midsection is an open book with the words "Settled 1720" and "Incorp. 1739". To the left of the book is a church, to the right, a school. The upper third of the crest is divided into two sections by a large diamond shaped arrowhead. The left corner contains a crown, a reminder of early sovereign rule. The upper right corner contains a cow and stone iron furnace, both early and important industries. Finally, the bottom third of the crest contains a large gear, symbol of what was once, Kent's local industry.
