ABOUT | South Kent School
Established in 1923 as a college preparatory school for boys in grades 9 through 12, provides its students with the intellectual, moral, physical and social framework for scholastic achievement in college and productive citizenship in adult society. At the core of the mission are the school's founding values, simplicity of life, self-reliance and directness of purpose, and a unique integrated curriculum designed for today's adolescent boys.
South Kent School is located 45 miles west of Hartford, Connecticut, and 90 miles northeast of New York City. It attracts students who are motivated and who demonstrate a potential for success. Rigorous academics are balanced by athletics, a strong arts program, extracurricular activities, and community service. Our campus is picturesque: a mix of white clapboard houses and stone buildings amid rolling hills and open fields, dotted with trees and ponds. The peaceful setting is accentuated by the school bell, signaling the end of the class or the start of the next. As boys move to their next activity, they walk among faculty children and the occasional dog playing the lawn. Please visit our website to learn more.
