The drawing will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 4:00 PM at the Gingerbread Station, 1 Kent Green Boulevard on the Kent Green.

Gingerbread Window Walk & Station. Enjoy Kent as we transform the town into an enchanted Gingerbread Village. Over 50 merchants will have gingerbread creations in their windows to view. The entries in the Gingerbread Contest will be on display at the Gingerbread Station, 1 Kent Green Blvd. (on the Kent Green) from Nov. 25 through Dec. 30, 2011.

To enhance your shopping experience, the Kent Memorial Library will offer complimentary Babysitting on Sat. Nov. 26 from 12:00 – 4:00 PM. “Safe Sitter” certified sitters will entertain and supervise your toilet trained children age 3 and older for up to 2 hours at no charge while you do your shopping in Kent. Come to the Kent Memorial Library’s Holiday Boutique, 32 North Main Street. Do you need stocking stuffers or gifts for the person who has everything? Come to the Library's Holiday Boutique and find quality children’s books, Beanie Babies, handmade scarves, note cards, jigsaw puzzles, and a large selection of books suitable for all ages. Sherman Chamber Ensemble presents a free concert at 3:00 PM at St. Andrew’s Church, 1 North Main Street, Kent. The concert includes selections from the Nutcracker Suite, a Tango by Thomson Kneeland, songs by Eliot Bailen, Cole Porter and Joni Mitchell, and Ted Rosenthal’s signature jazz improvisations on classical themes. Performers include Ted Rosenthal (piano), Susan Rotholz (flute and vocals), Eliot Bailen (cello), Thomson Kneeland (bass) and Chris Parker (drums). CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING ~ starts at 4:30 PM. Start at the Kent Green while the tree is lit accompanied by music by the Kent Singers. Under the guidance of the Kent Volunteer Fire Dept, participants will safely cross the road to the Fife 'n Drum Restaurant (53 North Main St) for hot chocolate, cookies, and carols. Then Santa and Mrs. Elf will lead everyone to the Town Tree lighting at St. Andrews Church with more music.
