
ABOUT | The Kent Singers
A small auditioned group of amateur singers, have been bringing high quality choral performances to the Kent community for 39 years. The programs Kent Singers develops include early music, baroque, classical and modern works. Since the fall of 2008, the group has been performing mostly a capella under the direction of members with experience conducting.
In April 2012, the Kent Singers will present two performances of a concert with a mixed theme of “Easter, Love, and new life in Spring”. It will feature J.S. Bach’s choral motet “Jesu, meine Freude” plus other shorter works. The performances will be on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at 3:00 p.m., at St. Andrew’s Church in Kent and on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at St. Mark’s Church in Bridgewater, also at 3:00 PM.
In June 2012, the Kent Singers will collaborate with instrumentalists from the Sherman Chamber Ensemble to present a special joint concert featuring two choral works by Gariel Faure: "Requiem" and "Cantique de Jean Racine", plus J.S. Bach's "Cantata #209" for solo Soprano and strings, and Maurice Ravel's "Sonatine for Flute, Harp and Cello". The performance will take place on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at 3:00 PM, at the Kent School Chapel in Kent.
